iPhone 5 is the 1st phone in the 6th generation of iPhones. Predecessor to the iPhone 5s and 5c and succeeds the iPhone 4. Released on the 21st of September 2012 the production officially stopped at September the 10th 2013. Apple Inc received 2 million preorders in the first 24 hours of it going on sale and sold a total of 5 million units worldwide in the first 3 days of its release a feat not so easy to achieve. Equipped with a 4inch full HD screen with 1,136×640 pixels, the phone stands noticeably taller than the previous iPhone, with much better color saturation and pixilation than the previous model; it shows colors in a much warmer temperature bringing the user closer to a real to life experience. The larger screen size helps with more onscreen content at any given time.
The phone itself is no thicker than the 6000 series grade single-body aluminum chassis it is build around. The back now also has a larger portion being covered by an aluminum plate with the glass portions now reduced due to shattering problems on the previous models. The 8 mega pixel camera lens is now protected by sapphire glass rather than a normal one which ensures that the lens stays scratch free and the pictures and videos continue to come out great even after years of use. It has a 1.3 GHZ dual core processor which works like a charm.
In performing tasks like launching camera, opening folders, launching 3rd party applications, using siri the iPhone 5 edges just ahead of the previous models but when it comes to web browsing it blows its competition away with its lightning fast web loading. The gaming experience on this phone is much faster and richer all thanks to a better color saturated screen and a faster processor. When it comes to applications the iPhone 5 not only loads them faster but also updates numerous applications simultaneously and faster.
